Scripture Reading ( John 4:7-18 KJV )
Now Jacob’s well was there. JESUS therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about sixth hour.
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: JESUS saith unto her, Give me a drink
( For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
Then saith the women of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a women of Samaria? For the JEWS have no dealings with the Samaritans.
JESUS answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of GOD, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
The women saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
JESUS answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
But whosoever drinketh of the water that i shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that i shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that i thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
JESUS saith unto her, Go, call thy husband , and come hither.
The woman answered and said, i have no husband. JESUS said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband.
For thou had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband; in that saidst thou truly.
According to scriptures above Samaritan women was not willing to give a man a drink of water, only because he wasn’t of her kind she thought. Wow!!! Sounds just like us at times, want even give your neighbor bowl of rice and that’s cheap. YES! I said us. Some christians can be a little over the top, and forget how JESUS was the one who changed their hearts.
JESUS asked for a drink of water, Samaritan women was acting how she was taught. Stated we have no dealing with JEWS. Samaritan women told JESUS she had nothing to draw with and the well is too deep. JESUS says whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that i shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that i shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Samaritan women says sir give me this water, that i thirst not, neither come hither to draw, JESUS tells her go call your husband. WOW!!! JESUS was nice then got straight to the point. NOW! Go call your husband, Samaritan womens says i has no husband. JESUS says For thou had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband; in that saidst thou truly.
Clearly this women should have no problem giving JESUS water, when she had been given herself to different individuals ( she did not know this was Jesus at this time ) . When JESUS told the women at the well, the one you’re with is not yours: meaning JESUS. JESUS is the GROOM and we are his BRIDES our first love, the ONLY one who DIED FOR US .
The women was knowledgeable about worship from her fathers whom seem to do so in the mountains. Knowing how to worship is one thing, and another to know how to live by every word that perceives out of the FATHER’S mouth. Which i am tested seems like everyday oh! my.
Confessions i was once that Samaritan women at the well, the one with five husbands that none of them were her’s. Even the one she was with at the well in the ( SIXTH HOUR ) was not her husband. Frankly none of them were mines, for me i am no different from this Samaritan women in the bible. This goes for men and women. No matter if i had one encounter or several that does not justify or cover up what’s been done ( Repent is definitely a key ).
Now! Let’s look at history about this Samaritan women with all these husbands. When you twain with one another your CONNECTIONS BECOME ONE ( MARRIED ). Just like Samaritan women, it does not matter if you are a men or women.
When Abram took Hagar to be his wife there was no paperwork, it was an agreement between a husband and wife . Even so Abram listen to his wife Sarai, and married her Egyptian handmaid to produce a son with her husband Abram. This was before he became the great father.
Or when Jacob thought he was working to gain Rachel and ended up with Leah first, then Rachel second and then Jacob eventually married BOTH.
Where will you be in the SIXTH HOUR?
Word Of The Day: TWAIN two For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; and they TWAIN shall be one flesh: so they are no more TWAIN, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. ( Mark 10:7-9 )
My LORD thank you for saving me, i know at times i feel like giving up and throwing in the towel. Then i think of how MIGHTY YOU ARE, At times i catch a attitude when things don’t go my way. I sometimes forget to act in a manner you teach me. Thank you for accepting me in JESUS NAME I AM THAT I AM
